The common major accidents in running cranes are "overturning", "falling arm" and "folding arm".
To avoid “overturning” accidents, the running crane is strictly prohibited from overloading and lifting. If the weight is unclear, can lift the weight slightly off the ground first, and then kick the heavy arm reverse support (outrigger) with your feet, if the arm moves, must not lift the objects. During lifting operation, it is strictly forbidden to extend the boom after lifting to prevent the over-torque from losing stability; in addition, oblique lifting should be avoided.
Most of the falling arm accidents are due to poor maintenance of the equipment itself. Such as the brake, its closure is relying on springs, if the maintenance is not good, vibration or other reasons cause the falling arm; or because the luffing rope is too long and not fastened, the luffing is loose, causing the falling arm accident.
The knuckle boom accident is due to the too large elevation angle of the boom. In addition, the inertial force is added to make the boom folded.
In order to avoid serious personal injury or death caused by falling arms or folding arms, must abide by the provisions of the "Safety Management Regulations for Lifting".
